a community service initiative.
Be the Love Campaign is all about empowering people to be the change in their world. We recognize that empathy is not enough to solve the problems that we face. We believe that while the statistics of suffering in our world today are overwhelming, we, together, are not powerless. We have something in our hand and when we band together, we can have a tremendous impact for good. From global opportunities to local community outreach, we are intentional about communicating value, strength, and most of all, love. Here's how you can join the campaign:
Be the Love: Global
Anti Human Trafficking -- Modern Day Slavery is the second largest criminal industry in the world. Today it is estimated that over 12 million people worldwide are trafficked(Source: United Nations). These statistics seem overwhelming, but each number represents a life. Each life has a story. Every life deserves freedom. Be the Love is committed to partnering with the A21 Campaign to right the injustice of slavery.
Orphans-- 24,000 children die each day from preventable causes (Source: UNICEF). Many of those children die simply because they do not have adequate food to make it through the day. Be the Love is partnering with Joint Aid Management to help them meet their goal of feeding one million children a day on the continent of Africa.
Be the Love: Home
Community Outreach -- Human suffering does not just happen overseas. Based in Washington, D.C., we are committed to reaching out to our local community. Be the Love Saturdays were launched in Fall 2010 and focus on community service projects reaching out to the community on Capitol Hill.
Everyday -- Be the love is a lifestyle. We encourage you to think creatively about ways that you can simply be the love in your day-to-day life... perhaps baking cookies for your neighbor, taking time to listen, or surprising someone with a word of encouragement.
