Navigating Through Lifes Storms

By blogger - Posted on November 5, 2008

Navigating Through Life’s Storms can be somewhat like navigating the beltway around Washington, DC during rush hour.

When driving in the District you will have to deal with over aggressive, horn honking, cell phone talking, wrong way on a one way distracted driver.

If you are in the Virginia portion of the beltway, you don’t have to worry, you’re not going anywhere so stay buckled up and enjoy that Venti Latte you spent an hour in line getting on your way out of Arlington.

Let’s not forget our neighbors to the north and east of the District in the great State of Maryland. There you quickly learn the art of sharing; your lane, and any lane on either side of you. Nothing like a white knuckle ride to get the old blood pumping. Forget a trip to “Results” or “Gold’s”, just hop on the beltway and your heart will be plenty challenged.

Seriously though, life does present us with plenty of “storms” that we have to learn how to navigate through. As presented in the first part of the Navigating Through Life’s Storms – Are We There Yet, we need to realize that this present reality, no matter how stormy or tumultuous, is not our final destination.

As you listen to the sermons in this series, we invite you to share your thoughts and experiences of Navigating Life’s Storms.

That's why I'm really excited about this series.  I feel like so many storms are brewing around us.  People are worried about the economy, their jobs, wars and all kinds of things.  And then, the smaller storms really start to get to us...problems with employers, relationships, feeling overwhelmed, dealing with condemnation...  Any ideas I can pull from God on how to navigate through all this stuff, I'm game!!
