Today's reading: Num. 19-20; Ps. 28; Mark 5
Mark 5:19 shares, "Jesus did not let him [go with Jesus], but said, 'Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.'"
How incredible this man must have felt, to have been set free of a legion of demonic spirits that had essentially prevented him from enjoying a life of freedom, forcing him to live among the already dead. No one can blame him for wanting, above all else, to stay and go with Jesus! It's a natural and appropriate response. It's also a poignant reminder that our response of undying gratitude for Christ's salvation and healing is indeed natural and appropriate. But, Jesus does not permit this man to spend all his time with Him, and instead, tells the healed and delivered man to go home and share with his loved ones the personal miracle he experienced. In the same way, Christ wants us to share our experiences and miracles with others as well.

Jesus, I thank you for the many miracles you've performed in my life! I ask that you would help stir up my fire of desire for you. Thank you for the opportunities to share how you have changed my life with my family and friends. Help me to respond to those opportunities obediently, as I am led by your Holy Spirit.
