Living Lives of Sacrifice

True sacrifice cost us something.  We can see this in the lives of the Israelites and especially the Levites as they labored to present themselves and the nation as holy and presentable before God. Numbers 28/29 gives us a model we can still use today.  We can daily turn our focus to God; morning and evening.  Israel offered the very food that gave them life. We can build on our “daily offering” with more of our time and substance until our whole heart and life are consumed as a sacrifice.  Jesus gave us His whole heart and life and simply asks the same in return.  

Jesus, we love you. We recognize Your awesome sacrifice for us. Help us to live lives of sacrifice for You. Open our eyes to see things from God’s point of view.  As we keep You before us in our thoughts, may Your Words come out of our mouths and may Your Spirit be evidenced in our actions.
