Today's reading: Num. 34-36; Mark 11

There are some amazing things to glean from these passages. One not to overlook is actually the first sentence in Numbers 34. "The LORD said to Moses, 'Command the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance will have these boundaries:'" Don't underestimate this simple wording. God is giving them instructions on what things should look like once the promise he made to His children was fulfilled.

Sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we are waiting for God's promises to come to fruition. During that time of waiting, we can increase our faith by not only waiting for the fulfillment of his promise, but by seeking His will for how he wants us to best use those blessings so they will bring glory and honor to Him.

Dear Lord, thank you for being faithful to the promises you have made to us. Please help us to use the blessings we receive in ways that bring glory and honor to you.

Great point, Candace!  Someone recently told me, "Don't let your gift take you where your character can't sustain you!"  It's one thing to walk into the promise of God.  It's another thing to stay there.  Figuring out God's boundaries for how to live inside the promise is the only way to sustain ourselves in the land.  If we haven't received the promise, yet, maybe our capacity for sustaining still needs to be enlarged.  Don't be discouraged!  Trust in God's timing; develop your character; figure out His desire for how you will use the promise; and know that you'll enter the promise at the perfect time!
